TrueLocal.com Launches New Search Engine
Search Engine Utilizes New Search Technology to Find Local Businesses Online
Ontario, Canada: November 15, 2005 - TrueLocal announces today the
launch of www.TrueLocal.com, a search engine
that specializes in providing users with search results for local brick and
mortar businesses. Using their "ground to web" patent pending search
technology, TrueLocal.com is able to find brick and mortar businesses in local
communities and give them a web presence. Features of TrueLocal.com include an
easy to use interface, local weather headers (which show the local weather
conditions as you search), and industry – leading search data which indexes
over 50 million web pages.
By providing local search options, users are able to go to TrueLocal.com and
search for numerous products and services available to them within their local
community. Only local businesses with an actual storefront are listed,
providing the user with quick access to find the product or service they are
seeking.
"Our goal is to drive online customers to offline businesses" says Jake Baillie,
President of TrueLocal. "By using our "ground to web" technology we are able to
locate physical local businesses and provide them with a web presence. We
designed a user interface that’s clean and easy to use. Compared to other
search options, our technology allows for users to find what they are looking
for in two clicks – avoiding sifting through unwanted "search engine SPAM.""
Companies can also advertise on TrueLocal with an easy to use bidding system.
Any business with a physical location can appear at the top of the results for
as little a $1 bid per category and zip code (e.g. hotels in 60603).
The expanded listings allow local businesses to identify hours of operation,
special certifications, payment methods or any other important criteria
prospective shoppers are seeking. Since advertising is only for businesses with
physical locations, local businesses within a community are not competing with
online businesses for advertising space and dollars.
